Jordan Retro 11 “Legend Blue”: Christmas Release?

Sneakerheads, rejoice! 2014 might be a banner year for Jordan fiends if the rumors are true and it will all be because of one release. That’s right guys, it’s the Holy Grail of Air Jordans, and maybe even kicks in general. Arguably the most popular sneaker of all time, and in this writer’s opinion, the greatest shoe ever made, period, word on the street is that next Christmas will see the release of the Jordan 11 “Columbia Blue”. Supposedly, they’ll be calling it the “Legend Blue” this time around but the hell if I care as long as it gets released. The Jordan 11 Columbia has become sneaker folklore as they have only been released twice, originally in 1996 and then again in 2001, making them a must have for everybody who has ever been a fan of the Nike Air Jordan. They’ve become increasingly hard to find with each passing year and have also caused a demand for the very similar and equally hot Jordan 11 “25th Anniversary Edition”. Another thing that has made these so hard to find on the resale market is that they really didn’t stand the test of time very well as they are susceptible to extreme yellowing due to their glowing white color.  If Nike ever wanted to cause a stir this is the perfect way to do it, schedule the release of these kicks during Christmas time. Add the Christmastime crowds at the mall with people camped out in front of Foot Locker and Finish Line and this is going to be an event. Every site is going to crash the second they’re released, if they’re released online at all. I do know one thing, the big chains better put together some seriously well-organized drafts to keep the chaos to a minimum and keep everybody safe for the holidays.
