A PROTEIN SHAKE THAT DOESN’T SUCK

Okay, we’re all men here, so can we be honest? Most protein shakes taste like chalk mixed with ass. I mean seriously, there are some protein shakes that are so terrible their taste can’t even be defined using words from the English language. I can’t even imagine what the 5,000 calorie ones taste like. And why exactly would somebody need a 5,000 calorie shake anyway? Are they training to become the Hulk? And don’t even get me started on protein bars, okay actually do get me started. Are these not the worst things ever created? I’ve never tasted a protein bar I like. I would rather find a way to get a can of tuna fish into a Snickers bar than eat most of the stuff we find on the shelves at our local supplement shop. But….amid the horror, there is a ray of light. We at Mens Mag Daily actually sampled several protein shakes mixed several different ways and we hated all of them except for one. Instead of bash the others we’ve decided to shower praise on the one protein shake that is actually absolutely delicious. That protein shake is Isopure. We sampled Isopure Zero Crabs Strawberries and Cream and Vanilla and while Vanilla was tasty Strawberries and Cream took the cake, or the opposite of cake in this case, I guess. Each serving contains 210 calories with only 10 calories coming from fat. There are no trans fats and a good amount of potassium. If you’re watching your carbs which I think pretty much every is, you’re in luck because the powder contains absolutely none. And you get 50 grams of protein which is awesome. Alright, let’s get down to the good stuff, like this stuff being really delicious. And we don’t just mean bearable as it won’t make you gag as you force-feed yourself, it’s actually really good. You can mix it anyway you like and we tried them all. You can grab a scoop, dump it in some water, and away you go. You could use almond milk, soy milk, pick your poison. We did find our favorite way to mix it up however and it’s pretty healthy. You get your blender ready and throw in your desired amount of Isopure. After that you throw in some ice and a serving of skim milk. Add a good sized banana into the mix (that’s what she said) and blend away. Remember, the banana and skim are only going to add about 140 calories and they’ll give you those few carbs you need to keep your energy up. This thing is perfect. It’s icy, sweet, cold deliciousness and it’ll only cost you about five hundred calories. The consistency is great and you don’t need to worry about any of that chalkiness because trust me when I say there is none. I guess if you’re in the market for Big Mountain Bear and Horse Protein shakes at 12,000 calories a serving this isn’t for you but for us normal folk I don’t see why anybody would use any other protein. Isopure gets the Mens Mag Daily seal of approval.
