When you’re nickname is Boobzilla you’re almost guaranteed to have a certain degree of success as an adult actress. Such is the case with East Coast hottie, Desiree Deluca who has been working as an exotic dancer since she was 18 years old. In terms of the industry, Desiree has kind of done it all from stripping, to feature dancing, to webcamming, before making the big jump into porn movies. With her ample assets and no nonsense attitude Desiree has built up a loyal fan base. Some might find it hard to believe that if Desiree hadn’t become a pornstar she would have another career that involved handcuffs as she studied criminal justice in college. Mens Mag Daily caught up with Desiree Deluca to discuss her early days as a stripper, how she got into the business, and why it’s so important for her to connect with her fans.
Mens Mag Daily: Desiree, you’ve been in the adult industry since you were 18 years old. Have you ever worked outside of the business?
Desiree Deluca: I’ve had quite a few jobs. I’ve worked armed security and I was the manager of a clothing store. I also worked as a loss prevention manager for several companies.
Mens Mag Daily: I know you started as a stripper. What made you want to be a stripper and how did you get started?
Desiree Deluca: I started dancing while I was still in high school. I was living on my own by then and still going to school. A “regular” job wouldn’t have brought in a lot of money so I decided to apply as a cocktail waitress at a strip club. The owner of the club asked me to dance and I naively didn’t know what he meant. That lifestyle was brand new to me, so we watched some girl’s dance and then the owner asked me to audition. I danced for several years after that.
Mens Mag Daily: Have you seen a lot of changes in the strip clubs and were those changes for the better or for the worse?
Desiree Deluca: Yes, I’ve actually seen many changes in strip clubs. The money is definitely different and girls do things now in strip clubs that was never allowed when I danced.
Mens Mag Daily: You also did the webcam thing. I know some girls love it and some girls hate it, what was your opinion on doing webcam?
Desiree Deluca: Yeah, I’ve tried the webcam thing before. I’ve found that it’s just not for me.
Mens Mag Daily: How did you end up getting into the movie side of things?
Desiree Deluca: The movie side of things came about when I did a photo shoot with a photographer that shot for Score. I was dancing and touring with a porn star at that time so I did the magazine shoot. I guess the fans wanted to see more of me and flooded the message boards. Score contacted me asking if I would be okay with coming back and filming and the rest is history.
Mens Mag Daily: What was it like your first time filming a scene? Were you nervous? Did you enjoy the experience?
Desiree Deluca: The first time I filmed was definitely nerve-racking, but Score was awesome. They coached me on what to do. It was a long day, but it was fun. They make anyone’s first time awesome. I love working for them.
Mens Mag Daily: You once said that girls from the East Coast are perceived differently in the adult industry. How are they viewed in your opinion?
Desiree Deluca: In this industry East Coast girls are known to be rougher around the edges, especially when we come to LA. We are more outspoken in my opinion, and I have no problem saying “no” or asking any questions. Someone out in LA told me why I couldn’t just be a “yes girl”. Yeah, that’s definitely not me.
Mens Mag Daily: I know that you’re totally not into girls, like not even being touched by them but you’ve done girl/girl scenes. Was it very difficult to get through being that you’re totally not into women and have people ever said you’re gay for pay?
Desiree Deluca: (Laughs) I don’t know where you heard that I’ve done girl/girl scenes because I’ve never done them and never will. I don’t like women and I definitely wouldn’t do it for the money. You’re probably thinking of a threesome which I have done before but there was no girl/girl action. We only focused on the male talent.
Mens Mag Daily: Doing porn kinds of puts you on a bigger scale than stripping in terms of people recognizing you and you kind of giving up some of your privacy. Were you ever concerned about that, about how exposed you would be?
Desiree Deluca: I knew getting into porn would mean that I probably wouldn’t have any privacy anymore. I’m okay with it, but you still have to be careful because unfortunately in this business you acquire stalkers and that’s where it gets dangerous.
Mens Mag Daily: You have a degree in criminal justice. What were you planning to do with that?
Desiree Deluca: I have a BA in Criminal Justice and I was planning on being a cop or a bounty hunter.
Mens Mag Daily: You seem like a tough girl to me, like you don’t take any crap. Do you think that’s true? Do you have a little bit of a temper?
Desiree Deluca: (Laughs) I might have a little temper and, of course, I don’t take crap from anyone.
Mens Mag Daily: One thing that everybody knows about you is your breasts, which are huge. First of all, how big are they? Second of all, how much attention do you get from them?
Desiree Deluca: My boobs are real and they are 34F’s. I do get a lot of attention because of them and people just like to stare.
Mens Mag Daily: If you weren’t doing porn, what do you think you would be doing?
Desiree Deluca: If I wasn’t in porn, I would probably be kicking in people’s doors and arresting them.
Mens Mag Daily: One thing I really have to know is, who came up with Boobzilla? That’s not an average nickname.
Desiree Deluca: Johnny Robins from Bang Bros gave me that nickname.
Mens Mag Daily: I noticed that you’re very active on your Twitter and you talk to your fans a lot. Is it an important part of your job to stay connected with the fans?
Desiree Deluca: It’s very important to stay connected to your fans. Without my fans I wouldn’t be where I am now and their constant support keeps me active in the industry.
