MMD MODELS: JACQUI HOLLAND

MMD October 30, 2014 0

Jaqui Holland does it all. She writes, she produces, she acts, and she models. While doing all of that, this Midwestern blonde bombshell manages to be a beauty of epic proportions. We at MMD have a thing for the beauty and brains combo. She’s made appearances in movies and TV shows like How I Met Your Mother and Desperate Housewives. We see big things in the future for the sexy Ms. Holland so we caught up with her to discuss her Midwestern roots, bad Hollywood experiences, and her current projects.

Mens Mag Daily: Okay Jacqui, let’s get the really important stuff out of the way, will you marry me?

Jacqui Holland: (Laughs) It’s possible.

Mens Mag Daily: You grew up in Ohio, which to me is proof that the most beautiful women come from the less fancy places. What was life like growing up in Ohio?

Jacqui Holland: I grew up in a conservative suburban part of Cincinnati. Needless to say I never actually fit in there. I remember wearing a V-neck to class one day and they made me wear a scarlet letter, just kidding. (Laughs) The Midwest is definitely not a bad place to be from but I’m a California Girl through and through now.

Mens Mag Daily: At what point did you decide you were destined to be an actress?

Jacqui Holland: I was actually taking a history of cinema class and saw Barbara Stanwyck on the screen in “Baby Face” and decided this was always my dream and I had to pursue it.

Mens Mag Daily: When you made the move to Hollywood, was it well planned and thought out or was it one of those, “I went to Hollywood with $500 dollars in my pocket, a 1985 Ford Escort, and a blanket” stories?

Jacqui Holland: I actually had booked a reality show while visiting LA while still in school. It was a fitness models in the jungles of Mexico show, thank God it never aired, a few of the girls almost died. Anyway, my team ended up winning and we won some prize money. My manager ended up dipping out of town with the money. The whole experience was a “welcome to LA” nightmare but I’m still around to talk about it.

Mens Mag Daily: Was it tough a tough transition coming for Ohio?

Jacqui Holland: It was definitely a change of pace from Ohio. I’m not going to lie. I was pretty wild my first few years in LA. I also developed a bit of a Craigslist addiction but once I got used to I calmed down and can’t think of anywhere else I’d rather be.

Mens Mag Daily: You acted on some big time TV shows like How I Met Your Mother, Desperate Housewives, etc. What were those experiences like for you?

Jacqui Holland: Those experiences were amazing. You get your own trailer and a nice pay check and to meet some fabulous actors you truly look up to and adore. I have no complaints there.

Mens Mag Daily: You’ve also done movies. Is there a big difference between doing TV and doing movies?

Jacqui Holland: The main difference in my opinion is time. Movies seem to move faster especially the lower budget independent ones. With sitcoms they really want to make sure you nail the scenes especially with the comedy. Also, with TV they’re pretty strict that you get the dialogue word for word.

Mens Mag Daily: You’ve even written, produced, and starred in your own movie which seems like a lot of work and is very impressive. What is that process like? You’re wearing so many hats.

Jacqui Holland: The truth is I’m a workaholic. If I’m not working all the time, I’m not happy. I love coming up with ideas and either writing them myself or with a partner. Once they’re written, I of course want to see them come to life so that’s where the producing comes in. It’s a lot of work and I get tired but I love it so I’m happy.

Mens Mag Daily: What is your dream role and why? I mean, you could play any role, what would it be?

Jacqui Holland: Harley Quinn, hands down this would be my ideal role. I love playing the psychotic bad girl.

Mens Mag Daily: What would you say is your strongest suit as an actress?

Jacqui Holland: There are two things I can do very well. Comedy is one of them and psychotic is the other. What does that say about me? I’m not sure. (Laughs)

Mens Mag Daily: Okay, I’ve kept it very serious, now I need to have a little fun. Describe your dream guy to me.

Jacqui Holland: I keep it simple, handsome, successful and funny.

Mens Mag Daily: What are your 5 favorite movies ever and out of those 5 which would you not be able to live without?

Jacqui Holland: Okay, here’s the list.

  1. Donnie Darko
  2. Napoleon Dynamite
  3. Clueless
  4. Fight Club
  5. Billy Maddison

Truthfully I could probably live without them but I would be sad. Cartoons are my crack. I love South Park, Family Guy, and Bob’s Burgers.

Mens Mag Daily: Okay Jacqui, this is your chance to tell us about anything you have coming up, websites, social media, plug away.

Jacqui Holland: Erika Jordan and I are working on a new series on YouTube now called Life as a Hot Loser. It has Family Guy style humor with Napoleon Dynamite smash cuts. It’s raw, edgy, and sexy. Think of it as a real scandalous version of Two Broke Girls. Also, please follow me on twitter @Jacquiholland.
