MMD INTERVIEWS THE VIVACIOUS VICKY VETTE

MMD August 13, 2014 0

It’s hard to not like Vicky Vette. I mean, besides the obvious like the blonde hair, insanely gorgeous body, beautiful eyes, and cute smile she is a legitimately sweet girl. She’s bubbly, almost innocent even with her sweet Southern accent and warm, welcoming manners. It’s not every day that a woman can be sexy and adorable at the same time but Vicky pulls it off wonderfully. One thing that must be mentioned when speaking of Vicky is the way she navigated the industry. While she didn’t take the traditional paths towards success, she made her own way and became an adult industry juggernaut. Besides running her own site and all that comes with that she manages the websites of some of the biggest stars in the business from Julia Ann to Nikki Benz. Mens Mag Daily was able to sit down with the gorgeous Vicky Vette to discuss how she entered the adult industry, her longevity, and what it was like going from normal girl to sex symbol.

Mens Mag Daily: Vicky, I literally got a thousand emails demanding that I interview you, how do you feel about that?

Vicky Vette: A thousand? You are more popular than I am! It’s nice to be thought of by anyone let alone a lot of people. It’s the reason I am still in adult, the support of the fans.

Mens Mag Daily: Can you tell me what your life was like before porn?

Vicky Vette: I was born in Norway in a small town in Stavanger. At the age of almost 5 my family moved to Canada where I was brought up. I spent a lot of time in Montreal.  I was doing corporate jobs by day doing everything from office management to record keeping to employee supervision and being pervert at night, getting my wild thing on at swinger clubs. I guess you could say I was your average sexaholic at night, keeping it together during the day to pay the bills and be professional. When working for other people started getting boring, I started building log homes in the mountains of Georgia for a living. I honestly love the process of construction. I had zero plans to be in porn at all.  For fun, at the age of 37, I sent in a picture to Hustler’s Beaver Hunt and the rest as they say is history. One year later I was shooting a DP.

Mens Mag Daily: Was it difficult making the transition from regular girl to porn goddess?

Vicky Vette: The sex was part was easy. Having been a swinger for a number of years I was comfortable with my sexuality. I did not expect to become famous. I was having fun when I tried porn. I had no idea it would lead to what it has. The biggest transition was having directors tell me what to do and when. A porn shoot is not real life per se. You have to position yourself so that the camera can see the action, so everything can be lit up, no shadows, all while trying to look completely natural, something you don’t have to worry about in your personal life. Was it difficult? My agent booked my first two shoots, DP’s, something I would never recommend to a first timer. I ended up in the hospital and considered quitting the business. People want you to shoot what they want you to shoot. I quickly learned to shoot things that I liked to do on my terms. Success was a blur to be honest. It all happened so fast that I still can’t believe it.

Mens Mag Daily: I believe you’re from the South, would you consider yourself a Southern Belle?

Vicky Vette: Not really. I never forget my Norwegian/Canadian roots even if I have a twang of the South in my accent, ya’ll. (Laughs)

Mens Mag Daily: You got into the industry later on in life but are still very successful, why do you think that is?

Vicky Vette: One word, MILFS.  I got into the business as the MILF genre in adult was exploding thanks to the American Pie movies. Up until that time, girls would get in porn younger and be forced to quit. When I first got in porn, I was told by several producers I was too old and should quit. Lucky for me a generation of porn viewers discovered the sexy world of women like Stiffler’s Mom. Naughty America was one of the first companies to ride the MILF wave and I was fortunate enough to shoot videos for them that to this day are being re-released. Every year someone turns 18 and a lot of those new viewers are fascinated with MILFS. There is something about being turned on by an older woman that excites people. I actually think getting in porn later in life was better for my career long term. If I had been in my 20’s it’s hard to transition to being an ”older performer”. Why am I still successful? Fans keep me here. I guess they will tell me when it’s time to hang up my panties.

Mens Mag Daily: You actually stopped making DVDs to focus solely on your site. Why did you make that decision and was it the right one?

Vicky Vette: I stopped making traditional porn DVDs in 2006 after working non-stop for over 3 years. I needed a break. I started to work on my website and noticed that sales went up. DVDs were starting to decline in popularity. I figured I would try my site exclusively for a year to see if it would be more popularity. I had been in business for myself, building log homes, why not be in business for myself making porn? In truth the girls making movies do NOT get paid very well and end up owning nothing. I made about $1,000 per scene, give or take, for a company. That’s it. Porn is not like Hollywood, no residuals, no profit sharing. $1,000 and you sign your rights away to movies that to this day are still making money. I did the math and figured I would make more owning my own videos and thank goodness I did. The first year was tough and I made a lot of mistakes. People were saying I had quit the business. Luckily, the fans stuck with me and it’s been 8 years since I shot for anyone else. If anyone wants something new they have to come to Vickyathome.com to get it. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Mens Mag Daily: Were you always a very sexually adventurous person?

Vicky Vette: Yes, a wild child at heart. You can’t get in porn and not be adventurous unless you are only in it for the money.

Mens Mag Daily: You actually run your whole site yourself, correct? That must be a lot of work, is it something you really enjoy?

Vicky Vette: I do run my own site plus 16 more for girls like Julia Ann, Nikki Benz, Puma Swede, Sara Jay, Deauxma and others plus a live network of 60 girls. It’s an immense amount of work. People ask me what I do in my free time and I usually say, ‘what free time?’ I am still in adult because I made the switch to the internet and running websites for other girls. I firmly believe my career would have ended years ago if I hadn’t. You can only shoot so many scenes for producers before you are ”shot out” and they don’t hire you anymore. It is a thrill to see something start out so small and grow to something quite big and no I am not talking about a penis. (Laughs) It’s gratifying that other girls who are huge in the business trust me to run their sites.

vv16

Mens Mag Daily: Your fans call themselves the Vette Nation Army. Why do your fans love you so much? Not everybody has such a loyal fan base.

Vicky Vette: Since the early days of Myspace, I have done my best to interact with the fans, to answer as many DMs, emails, personal messages and tweets as humanly possible. When they go to my official site they really do interact with me, not some dude pretending to be me. We have fan get togethers, dinners and anything we can think of to make sure they know how important they are to us. We are only able to stay in the business because enough fans are willing to fork out $25 a month for a membership rather than steal porn at a tube site. The fans know we are trying our best and I think they like being part of a community that cares.

Mens Mag Daily: Do you find yourself getting recognized in the street a lot?

Vicky Vette: Funny you should ask that, not often but a couple weeks ago I was walking down the street and someone screamed ”Vicky Fucking Vette!” from a bar. It turned out to be a twitter follower. I had my picture with him but then his girlfriend said ”Back off Bitch!”  I think a lot of people recognize me but are respectful enough of my privacy to not say anything. My personal trainer from a year ago just sent me a friend request. He either knew but didn’t say anything or just found out.

vv19

Mens Mag Daily: Can you tell us your most memorable moment in porn and the moment you would most like to forget?

Vicky Vette: Most memorable? I would say winning the XBIZ Award for Best Performer Website. I hope that is not conceited but it was great to win something in front of my peers for a website I have put so many hours into building.  Most like to forget? My second ever shoot where I ended up in the hospital with a torn vagina.

Mens Mag Daily: Can you tell us what your type of guy is and also your type of woman?

Vicky Vette: A good sense of humor goes a long way.  I like down to earth friendly polite, not pushy people go a long way in my book.  As for women, girls with ego are a big turn off.

vv21

Mens Mag Daily: This is a horrible question but it was requested by my readers, what is your favorite sexual position and why?

Vicky Vette: It genuinely depends on the mood.  Sometimes it’s great to be on top in control and sometimes you want to lay back for some good old’ fashioned missionary.  There is no ”one” position. They all have their moments. If there’s something good on TV then doggie is great because you can both watch it. (Laughs)

Mens Mag Daily: Can you tell us about your craziest sexual experience?

Vicky Vette: I’d have to go with shooting a BJ video in a 747 flying over the Atlantic for ”Lavatory Occupied”.  I wasn’t thinking it was too crazy at the time but now that I look back on it, it’s amazing to think we were at 34,000 feet, with people knocking on the door asking to get in and Air Marshalls or stewardesses didn’t stop us.  It was a real homemade movie that went on in many ways to launch my official site.
