It’s not uncommon to find an adult actress who has taken some college classes. Some even have a degree or are doing porn as a means to pay for college. It is uncommon, however, to find a woman in her mid-thirties who is a Doctor, and I’m not talking a Doctor of basket weaving, I’m talking a doctor in a science and health related field who just a couple of years ago despite a lucrative career in her field decided to take a stab at hardcore porn. Lucky for us, that Doctor who decided to take a stab at porn was Cherie DeVille. Anybody who has seen Cherie before knows that this resident of Nashville, Tennessee is the total package. This leggy blonde with the face of a supermodel and the body of a goddess makes men swoon all over the world. And speaking with her, you can tell she’s an educated woman. She’s eloquent, well-spoken, and articulate. She is the embodiment of why a guy would forego trying to pick up a 19 year old in co-ed and instead opt for a more mature woman because unless I’m guessing very wrong, being with the lovely Ms. DeVille would be the experience of a lifetime. Mens Mag Daily was fortunate enough to speak with Cherie about everything from having one night stands with women, to her level of sexuality before porn, and how cool the few days leading up to her first scene were.
Mens Mag Daily: Alright Cherie, we like to start off with a little background information about how you got into the adult industry.
Cherie DeVille: Actually, it was very random. A friend of mine was doing a commercial for Halloween prosthetics that involved implied nudity. Some girls dropped out and they called me. It took some convincing but I decided to do it. After that, I made a profile on Model Mayhem and somebody from OC Modeling contacted me.
Mens Mag Daily: Had you ever even considered doing porn at that point?
Cherie DeVille: Not at all, it wasn’t something that had even crossed my mind. I had never even done any type of modeling at all so obviously porn never crossed my mind at all. I’m from Nashville so it’s not like you’re surrounded by modeling opportunities every day. But I was very comfortable with myself and my body so it wasn’t like totally out of my comfort zone.
Mens Mag Daily: Would you say you were very sexual before porn?
Cherie DeVille: You could say that. I’ve experimented a lot and I’ve done the whole swingers club thing so I was definitely comfortable with my body and my sexuality but I’m 35 years old and I’ve only had sex with 5 guys outside of porn. I prefer women. I’ve slept with countless women. I probably should have kept a list of some kind but there’s way too many to remember. (Laughs)
Mens Mag Daily: Your first scene was a girl/girl which you obviously had some experience with but were you nervous given that it was being filmed?
Cherie DeVille: I was actually in a model house for a few days before I did my first scene. My roommate was Holly Michaels and we actually banged in the house before I started filming. (Laughs) It ended up being that my first scene was for Filly Films and it was with her so I wasn’t nervous at all. Obviously, we had sex already and we got along well so it really just kind of flowed. There was already chemistry so there was nothing to be nervous about.
Mens Mag Daily: Okay, that’s extremely hot.
Cherie DeVille: Yeah, I mean I’m not sure if you’ve spoken to her or met her but it’s much easier to have sex with her than to not. She is so sexual and gorgeous. You really have no choice in the matter.
Mens Mag Daily: And how did you make the decision to start doing boy/girl scenes?
Cherie DeVille: It was just something I figured I would give a chance. It’s only been about six or seven months. I was under contract with Brazzers at first but I’ve been doing boy/girl with other companies now for about four or five months.
Mens Mag Daily: Was it a lot different for you doing boy/girl scenes?
Cherie DeVille: Yeah, it was way different for a lot of reasons. When it comes to male performers there aren’t that many of them so you might not cross paths with them very often so you don’t know them very well at all. As far as girls went, I had met so many and I knew them, I had spoken to them so there was a familiarity there. With the guys, it was kind of the opposite.
Mens Mag Daily: So is it safe to say that you’re more into girls in real life?
Cherie DeVille: Absolutely like I said before I’ve only been with a handful of guys in my life. I’m more attracted to women. I actually thought I was a lesbian for a long time.
Mens Mag Daily: It must be really hard for a guy to get with you in real life. What does it take for you to be attracted enough to a man to sleep with him?
Cherie DeVille: It’s very hard to say. It’s something that I just have to feel. I feel it or I don’t and it doesn’t really change. For example, if there’s a guy I’m not attracted to at first I’m not going to be attracted to him later. I’ve been with 5 guys and they’ve all been different. I don’t think any of them were what American society would call super handsome and attractive. It’s vague but there just has to be chemistry there when it comes to guys, I have to feel it.
Mens Mag Daily: So what is your sexual orientation?
Cherie DeVille: I’m definitely bi.
Mens Mag Daily: Given how attracted you are to women, is it harder for you to shoot boy/girl scenes?
Cherie DeVille: Not really because you don’t have to connect. Let’s say there’s a male performer and I can’t stand his personality or I just think he’s really annoying then I’ll just avoid speaking to him. (Laughs) I just say to myself, “Okay, this is a penis that is going to feel really nice inside of me.” I think of them as a really good vibrator. But that’s not to say that is the case with all of the guys. There are awesome male performers who are great people with great personalities.
Mens Mag Daily: You’re 35 and haven’t been doing porn very long. By industry standards, you got into it pretty late.
Cherie DeVille: Yeah, I did. Like I said before it was just something I never considered before. I hadn’t ever even done any mainstream modeling. It just kind of found me.
Mens Mag Daily: What were you doing before porn then?
Cherie DeVille: I’m actually a Doctor of physical therapy.
Mens Mag Daily: Are you serious?
Cherie DeVille: Yes, absolutely.
Mens Mag Daily: I’ve spoken to a lot of girls who went to college for a while and some who even have a Bachelor’s but I’ve never spoken to a porn star who is also a Doctor.
Cherie DeVille: I wouldn’t say it’s the norm. (Laughs)
Mens Mag Daily: I mean, were you even making more money doing porn that physical therapy?
Cherie DeVille: Actually, no, when I first started and I was just doing girl/girl I was taking a pay cut.
Mens Mag Daily: Then what could have possibly led you to make this decision?
Cherie DeVille: I don’t believe in an afterlife. I believe that everything we’re going to do happens in this life and when you’re done then you’re done so any opportunity that comes up for me that seems like it would be fun for I just take it. I actually had an opportunity to live on the islands for a year and do physical therapy and it seemed fun so I did it. Why not experience as much as possible? If something seems fun then why wouldn’t you do it?
Mens Mag Daily: So you’re happy with your decision to get into porn?
Cherie DeVille: Absolutely, and I’ll do it as long as I enjoy it. I still work as a physical therapist so I always have that to fall back on if I no longer enjoy porn.
Mens Mag Daily: You’re in a very serious field, has there been any conflict since you began working in the adult industry?
Cherie DeVille: Before I started, I consulted a lawyer and asked him if there would be any issues involving licensure and everything to kind of cover myself. But at work I don’t look very glamorous so I haven’t been recognized yet. To be honest though, you can be fired at any time. If my employer decided to fire me because I do porn it would be like him firing somebody because they were gay, or because they were black. That’s the situation in a right to work state.
Mens Mag Daily: Your life sounds very interesting. What is a typical day like in the life of Cherie Deville?
Cherie DeVille: Nothing too exciting. It’s pretty average actually. I get up and go to work. I run a lot with my dogs. I love surfing so I do that a lot. I work really long days too, 10 or 12 hours, because I prefer to work fewer days per week so I squeeze my hours in.
Mens Mag Daily: What’s your trick for picking up chicks? I’m assuming it’s not very hard for you?
Cherie DeVille: You know, I’ll see somebody and you can kind of tell when there’s a connection. If I feel that I’ll go up to her, talk to her, and ask for her number. I’m definitely an extrovert, I am not shy but I wouldn’t say I have a particular trick.
Mens Mag Daily: Do girls have one night stands with other girls?
Cherie DeVille: Yes, definitely, all the time. I’ll take her to my house and it’s obvious when it’s a one night stand that it’s pretty much a sexual thing so there are no hurt feelings. If she looks like she’s starting to get too sleepy in my house I’ll take her to IHOP at 2 in the morning and then take her home. (Laughs)
Mens Mag Daily: What is real life lesbian sex like? Is it like the sex we see in the movies?
Cherie DeVille: There’s a big difference from real life and what you see on screen but then again that depends on the company you’re shooting for. Girlfriends films does very realistic scenes. That’s how two women would have sex in real life. Women are a lot more fluid with their sexuality. A woman doesn’t have to cum every time she has sex. She might just do something for the person she’s with. It’s not all fingering and dildoing. It happens sometimes but it’s not a constant thing. Face sitting happens but I’m not going to take my high heel and put it in her vagina. A lot of that is for the men, all the penetration and everything. Most of the companies, and I’m not going to say any names, but most of their lesbian scenes aren’t very realistic and they have so much penetration because they’re catering to the men. It’s lesbian porn for men.
