Jenna J Ross, with her innocent looks and petite frame, looks more like a nurse or an executive assistant, the cute girl you’d see on the bus or the train on your way home from work, than a wildly popular pornstar who releases some of the steamiest scenes in the business. Born in Boston, Jenna’s rise to porn prominence was somewhat of a whirlwind seeing her living in 2 different states in 2 weeks before heading to Los Angeles and jumping into the business. Her cute girl next door looks aren’t exactly a hard sell so she appeals to men of all walks of life from all over the globe. Men’s Mag Daily was able to chat with Jenna about her life before porn, her outlook on dating, and how she felt while shooting her first scene.
Mens Mag Daily: Alright Jenna, tell us how you got into the industry.
Jenna J Ross: I had just moved from Boston to Florida and I didn’t want to be a waitress anymore. I was tired of making minimum wage so I submitted some pictures to Playboy and I never heard back from them but through that I learned that I really liked nude modeling. I had been doing nude modeling for about a year so by the time I got to Florida I kind of just jumped in with both feet and never looked back. I lived in Florida for like a week before I moved to L.A.
Mens Mag Daily: Why did you move from Boston to Florida in the first place?
Jenna J Ross: I was just in a rut and I wasn’t progressing at all so I knew I needed a change. I was just stalled.
Mens Mag Daily: What did you do in Boston?
Jenna J Ross: I was a waitress and a barista.
Mens Mag Daily: Were there any signs pointing to the fact that you might end up in the porn industry?
Jenna J Ross: In retrospect, if I psychologically look at my behavior then I would say yes that there were many warning signs. I just didn’t know what it was all about at the time. I had sex all over my high school campus. That’s not your typical behavior but I never gave it much thought at that age. I jumped into porn so there wasn’t a lot of thinking involved. I knew I liked sex so I figured I would be good at it.
Mens Mag Daily: When you finally got into the business, was it what you expected?
Jenna J Ross: My answer to that question is always the same, I didn’t have any expectations. I wasn’t thinking about what it could be like or what it should be like. I just got into it for the experience.
Mens Mag Daily: Were you nervous at all?
Jenna J Ross: No actually I wasn’t nervous at all. I actually had a friend out here who was doing it and she didn’t say it was dangerous or anything so I wasn’t nervous. I knew exactly what I was doing.
Mens Mag Daily: That’s crazy. I would have thought it would have been nerve wracking for you because you went from Boston to Florida and then to Los Angeles. On top of that you’re doing porn and the actual environment is completely different.
Jenna J Ross: Well, I basically lived in 3 different states in a matter of 2 weeks. Basically, I was looking for a fresh start and I got to be who I wanted to be and not who people thought I should be. It’s important that you define yourself.
Mens Mag Daily: What was life like before you entered the industry?
Jenna J Ross: I describe it as charmed. I grew up in the suburbs of Boston and my parents were pretty well off. I went to private schools all my life. It was one of those situations where if you do something then everybody knows about it. Your past is constantly following you. It kind of defines you. I wanted for nothing. My parents gave me everything but I wasn’t a fulfilled person. I had a great education and a great financial situation but I wasn’t happy. Emotionally, I just wasn’t happy.
Mens Mag Daily: At what point did you decide that porn was definitely something you could do?
Jenna J Ross: I never really had any doubts about it. I didn’t go into it with many feelings, that wasn’t my mindset. I went into it with the mindset of, “Okay, I’m going to do this and I’m going to do this to the best of my ability and that’s all anybody could ever ask for.” It just so happens my ability is great which is awesome for me.
Mens Mag Daily: So would you say you were very sexually inclined before the business?
Jenna J Ross: I was a late bloomer but I didn’t lead up to it. When I started, I did everything. I didn’t hesitate at all and that’s kind of a thing with me. I do something and if I liked it I’ll do it again and if not then I won’t. I wasn’t promiscuous. I would just find someone I liked and use them over and over again. I didn’t really date anybody except for one guy I had an on again off again thing with for 7 years. It kind of did a number on me emotionally so I got to the point where I don’t even want a relationship.
Mens Mag Daily: So was a lot of the stuff you were doing on camera new to you?
Jenna J Ross: Oh no, I have a rule. I don’t do anything on camera that I haven’t done in my personal life. If you see me do something on camera then I’ve done it in real life including threesomes.
Mens Mag Daily: So you’ve had threesomes off camera?
Jenna J Ross: I’ve had multiple threesomes. I like to have fun, I like to have my cake and eat it too but everybody has to be on the same level. If it’s a couple the girl has to be the one who picks the girl and basically dictates the whole thing. I went to an art school so we were very liberal.
Mens Mag Daily: What about your first scene ever, were you a little nervous for that?
Jenna J Ross: I was nervous about the process of doing it but I wasn’t scared of doing it if that makes sense. I wasn’t scared to take my clothes off or play with myself on camera. I was more scared of doing it wrong like not knowing where the camera was. I took a lot of classes in high school though that turned out to be very useful now like lighting design and photography. I understand how light plays off the body and I know how to model so I kind of had a leg up.
Mens Mag Daily: At what point did you start gaining popularity within the industry?
Jenna J Ross: In my eyes I’m just this oddball girl who likes to have sex on camera and I have trouble seeing myself from other people’s points of view. I’m just doing what’s fun. There could be fans and people noticing me and it doesn’t really register with me because I’m just doing what I like to do. It’s very surreal to think that so many people care. It’s actually very touching.
Mens Mag Daily: What has your dating life been like since entering the industry?
Jenna J Ross: I don’t believe in dating. All you need to have for a successful relationship is a great friendship and a good sexual chemistry. Any other definition of that relationship is society’s opinion of how you should behave around that person so believe me I don’t date. I’m looking for someone I can have a great friendship and have great sex with. I want an actual friendship though. If sex weren’t involved I would still want us to have the ability to talk and have a good time together.
Mens Mag Daily: So you would never get married?
Jenna J Ross: The only way I would get married was if I decided to have children. It doesn’t look like having kids is in the cards for me; I mean that could change but I doubt it.
Mens Mag Daily: You’re also doing other things such as your radio show. Did you think you would be doing stuff like that?
Jenna J Ross: I honestly never thought about any of it. I got into it because I really love sex and I found something that I love to do. I’m able to pay my bills and have fun. I never thought about fame, popularity, or what could come from it. I did it because I love having sex on camera. I love producing scenes.
