Seriously, if you looked up “girl next door” in the dictionary you’d likely see a picture of Jodi Taylor. From her demure smile, to her freckles nothing about the lovely Ms. Taylor says pornstar. Mens Mag Daily was able to catch up with the Idaho hottie to talk about growing up in a small town, why she felt at home in porn, and what she plans to do with her future.
Mens Mag Daily: Jodi, where are you from originally?
Jodi Taylor: I was born in Portland but I grew up in Idaho.
Mens Mag Daily: I think you’re the first person I’ve ever spoken to from Idaho. What was it like living there?
Jodi Taylor: Basically, it’s boring, there’s just nothing there. (Laughs)
Mens Mag Daily: What do people do for fun in Idaho?
Jodi Taylor: Nothing. (Laughs) I mean, they have skiing and a lot of outdoor activities but that’s it.
Mens Mag Daily: High school must have been pretty damn boring.
Jodi Taylor: We just sat around pretty much. We’d go to the nearest city sometimes which is Boise. We’d go to the lake or go skiing but nothing too exciting.
Mens Mag Daily: Tell me, how does a girl from small town Idaho get into the porn business?
Jodi Taylor: Well thankfully, I haven’t lived in Idaho for a very long time. It’s been eight or nine years since I left. As far as actually getting into the business I had a friend who was doing it and I had an interest in it when I was younger. I talked to an agent for two or three weeks before I got into it because I was worried about the exposure. Eventually I decide to give it a shot and I’m very happy that I did.
Mens Mag Daily: Were you kind of nervous about the whole situation?
Jodi Taylor: I wasn’t nervous about actually doing it. That didn’t bother me. For me, it was strictly the exposure that made me unsure.
Mens Mag Daily: How did it end up working out in terms of the exposure?
Jodi Taylor: It ended up working out really well. My friends and family are all really cool about it. I’ve had some people say things that didn’t like me anyway before I did porn but as far as my close friends and family go, they’re totally cool with everything.
Mens Mag Daily: When you went to shoot your first scene was it like totally foreign to you? Had you ever done anything remotely close to having sex on film?
Jodi Taylor: Honestly, it wasn’t that different from anything else I’ve ever done before. It was a simple boy/girl scene. It was a point of view scene or POV as they’re known so it was basically just me, the male talent, and the make-up artist. It was really laid back and chill.
Mens Mag Daily: And you weren’t nervous with the cameras around and everything?
Jodi Taylor: No, not even a little. I wasn’t nervous at all. The guy was really nice. He made me feel really at ease so it was just chill.
Mens Mag Daily: Based on any ideas you had about the adult industry before you were actually a part of it, did it meet your expectations?
Jodi Taylor: Oh yeah, it definitely did and especially now. It’s better than when you’re new because when you’re new you don’t know anyone and it’s kind of overwhelming. After a while you get really comfortable. It got to a point where I realized that this is what I really wanted to do so it definitely met my expectations.
Mens Mag Daily: Was it a really different type of atmosphere than anything you were used to?
Jodi Taylor: Not really actually, I mean I was surprised at how laid back and chill it was. That’s one thing I didn’t expect was for it to be so easygoing. Honestly, it’s not much different from just hanging out and having sex with a friend.
Mens Mag Daily: You’re becoming like a porn “it” girl now. Why are you gaining so much popularity in your opinion?
Jodi Taylor: I think it’s just the fact that I seem like a lot of fun. I love being on set so I think that translates. I’m actually into what I’m doing and I think the person watching can tell.
Mens Mag Daily: What do you do if you’re doing a scene with somebody you’re not into at all?
Jodi Taylor: It doesn’t happen very often but when it does the scene kind of goes to hell. I’ve had it happen a couple of times and it’s not so much that I’m not into them. It’s just that something isn’t working out like sexually we’re very different or something is going on. It kind of makes for an awkward scene but you kind of do what you can with it.
Mens Mag Daily: What do you fiend easier to do, boy/ girl scenes or girl/girl scenes?
Jodi Taylor: I would say that boy/girl is the easiest for me because it’s what I have the most experience with and it’s easier for me to have orgasms that way. As far as girls go, I was with a couple of girls before the industry but way more guys. I’m more into girls now but it was definitely like a new territory for me. But actually, I think that threesomes are my favorite scenes to shoot. They’re so much fun especially with the right girl.
Mens Mag Daily: You have no idea how many girls say that.
Jodi Taylor: Yeah, because it’s true. If you have a good girl involved it’s awesome and it’s especially good if the guy knows how to have a threesome.
Mens Mag Daily: Do pornstars ever have to prepare mentally for scenes like, “Okay, I’m about to have sex in front of a room full of people, let’s go.”?
Jodi Taylor: No there’s no way to mentally prepare. You just have to go in there and have fun. It’s not hard because it is a lot of fun. There’s a lot of physical preparation as far as making sure you’re completely clean in every possible are of your body.
Mens Mag Daily: Would you say you’ve had any negative experiences as far as the adult industry goes?
Jodi Taylor: There have been times when I don’t get along with the talent or with the director but that happens. Sometimes you just don’t click with people. For the most part it’s been a lot of fun. It can get weird if you kind of both have different ideas as to what you’re into sexually because then one of you is doing one thing and the other is doing something different and that can get really awkward. It kind of sucks.
Mens Mag Daily: You’ve been in the business for a couple of years now, is this something you plan to do long term?
Jodi Taylor: I plan to do it for quite a while longer because there are still tons of things I want to do. I do have another job and a career path I want to take but I’ll probably do this until I get bored and I don’t see that happening any time soon.
Mens Mag Daily: You work at another job?
Jodi Taylor: I do, it’s a part-time job and I have time to study as well so it works for me. I’m still in college now; I take classes here and there. I study languages and once in a while I’ll take a class that just seems cool and interesting.
Mens Mag Daily: I think all my readers want to know, what’s your type of guy?
Jodi Taylor: I go for older guys. I like guys that basically just fun to hang out with and preferably tall. All my fans know I love stubble. I don’t like serious guys. I like guys who like to chill and have fun.
Mens Mag Daily: Do fans ever recognize you?
Jodi Taylor: Yeah it happens on occasion and it’s a little awkward because I don’t want the people I’m with to find out I’m a pornstar that way if they don’t already know. I get a lot of people that are really cool. They tell me they’ve seen me before but this time they wanted to say hi. It’s actually really sweet.
Mens Mag Daily: How should a guy approach you if he wants to get to know you?
Jodi Taylor: Let’s see, what would work on me? I guess just being polite and saying hey or even just being blunt about it. Most of the time I’m running around so I’m in my own little space but if I’m in the state of mind where I’m ready for that then it’s totally cool. The best way it to come up to me and tell me I’m cute or tell me I’m hot. They shouldn’t be sexual or anything because I’ll get defensive. The best way to do it is to tell me I’m hot and ask me out for a drink. You don’t have to tell a girl you want to have sex with here, it’s obvious that you want to when you tell her she’s hot.
