Karen Fisher is kind of the quintessential pornstar. She’s hot, blonde, busty, bubbly, and absolutely loves what she does for a living. Given that most girls are in and out of the industry before you can blink, Karen’s longevity is very impressive. She started out as an exotic dancer at 18 years old and got on the internet wave very early on by starting her own site, before free porn and a million other sites jumped on the bandwagon. While she’s dabbled in other things, she’s never really left the industry and she’s gone from young hottie to the stunning MILF we see today. Karen takes her work seriously and makes sure that any content she films is going to be satisfying for her fans. Mens Mag Daily had the chance to sit down with the sexy blonde to discuss her early days as a dancer, her other pursuits besides porn, and what the future holds for her.
Mens Mag Daily: Karen, you’ve been in the adult industry for a pretty long time now.
Karen Fisher: I actually started out really young. I started dancing when I was 18. I also did a lot of stuff on the side. I sold real estate for a while and I was a bartender. I went to school and got my degree.
Mens Mag Daily: Was it hard being a student while working in the adult industry?
Karen Fisher: Honestly, it was a good job for somebody going to school. I was dancing at the time. I had a lot of free time so it gave me the freedom to make a comfortable living and still be a student.
Mens Mag Daily: And you started your own website, right?
Karen Fisher: I started my website when everything was just starting. A girl that I knew from the strip club had started her own and she was doing really well. I figured it would be a good idea to get into it as well.
Mens Mag Daily: Was the whole internet and website thing a lot different back then?
Karen Fisher: It definitely was. There weren’t many sites so it was much more lucrative. Also, there wasn’t all this free stuff. People were paying for their porn so it was definitely more profitable.
Mens Mag Daily: Was it just you on the site or did you actually film content?
Karen Fisher: When I first started out I did everything and for a while I kind of pulled back and started just doing girl/girl and solo. In the last 5 years I kind of just went full on hardcore again.
Mens Mag Daily: Why did you pull back?
Karen Fisher: I was married at the time so I pulled back and I actually worked for him as a telemarketer which was the worst job ever because nobody wants to talk to telemarketers. I decided to go back to what I was doing and I was also really busy with selling real estate. I got into another relationship and every time I did something with another guy there was a lot of jealousy so I stuck with the girl/girl and the solo and maybe once in a great while I would do boy/girl. We eventually broke up and I decided there was nobody holding me back anymore so I was just going to do whatever I wanted.
Mens Mag Daily: Did you do well selling real estate?
Karen Fisher: I was selling real estate in Florida when the market was really hot so it was pretty easy. Once the market crashed it was really hard so I decided to move on. I enjoyed it a lot though because I love houses and I love meeting people.
Mens Mag Daily: At that point, you had only shot for your own website?
Karen Fisher: I had done a few things here and there but the majority of it was for my website. Every few years I would do a shoot for a big company. I did something for Reality Kings. I did something for Elegant Angel so I would do stuff here and there. It was very rare though. At the time I was just happy with just doing my site.
Mens Mag Daily: When you’re just doing your own site, do you feel like a part of the adult industry?
Karen Fisher: Not really because you’re working with amateurs so they’re on the fringe of the business. I will say that working for these big companies I’ve become a better performer. I learned a lot about production, lighting, and make-up.
Mens Mag Daily: And you ran this all on your own?
Karen Fisher: I have a webmaster but I always handled all the content.
Mens Mag Daily: You must be a pretty good businesswoman.
Karen Fisher: I learned a lot over the years. I was really young when I started so I always feel like if I had the chance I would go back and do some things differently. When I first started out I wasn’t as savvy as I should have been but I definitely learned. I know what sells and what doesn’t. I’m much more responsible with my money now and make sure that my site is always updated. I stay on top of all my paperwork and interact with my fans. There’s a lot of stuff to know.
Mens Mag Daily: A lot of girls in the porn industry are all about investing the money they make. Are you one of those girls?
Karen Fisher: I definitely am. I’ve invested in real estate and the stock market. The real estate I handle on my own but as far as the stocks go I have a guy handle it all for me.
Mens Mag Daily: Is there a big difference between shooting your own content and shooting content for a big studio?
Karen Fisher: Yeah, I think it’s a longer day for sure if you shoot for a big studio. I can shoot a scene for my site in a few hours. Depending on who you’re working with everybody shoots a little differently. With the big companies they’re all about the script and they take a lot more stills.
Mens Mag Daily: I feel like the sex you film for a site would be more realistic. Is that the case?
Karen Fisher: It depends. Back in the day when it was more of just swingers parties and people filming sometimes the shooting wasn’t so great in terms of angles and stuff. It might not be as professional. I like to find a happy medium where you’re getting that feeling you get from shooting for your site but you’re still getting a pretty high quality production.
Mens Mag Daily: Is one more physically pleasurable than the other?
Karen Fisher: I would say it depends on the talent. There are people who are better performers than others. There are a lot of directors who are very start and stop so you start to get into something and they stop the scene and then you get into it again and they stop it again. I like a director who just kind of let’s things flow naturally.
Mens Mag Daily: How does your personal sex life compare to your work sex life?
Karen Fisher: Honestly, I work so much that I don’t have a lot of personal sex. But I think they’re close. I do on camera what I do in real life.
Mens Mag Daily: Do you date men and women in your personal life?
Karen Fisher: I dated a girl once when I was 19 or 20, she was actually my girlfriend. I love girls and I love fooling around with them but I prefer men.
Mens Mag Daily: Have you ever had any negative experiences in the adult industry?
Karen Fisher: Nothing super negative, just dumb stuff. I hate when people are late because I live 2 and a half hours away from porn valley and I’m always on time. I truly enjoy the adult industry. There are a lot of things I’m into but this is my favorite, I want to do it until the wheels fall off.
