When
Whole Grains
Your body works twice as hard when breaking down foods that are high in fiber like brown rice and oatmeal so ditch the processed food for these instead.
Lean Meat
Lean meats like chicken are a godsend for those trying to lose weight and get in shape. Your body actually burns almost a third of the calories in the lean meat while you’re digesting it. You’re burning off what you ate practically while you’re eating it. That’s badass. Plus, chicken is a classic go to source for protein which is essential if you’re lifting weights to build muscles. Chick can be a weightlifter’s best friend.
Low-Fat Dairy
Try some Alpine Lace Swiss. It’s delicious and it’s packed with calcium which helps you keep your muscle mass up. The more muscle you’re carrying, the more calories you’re burning. It’s that simple. You can also do yogurt and other low fat cheeses.
Green Tea
There’s something in green tea called EGCG. It temporarily speeds up your metabolism so if you drink four to five cups of green tea a day it will most definitely aid in your weight loss efforts. You can drink it iced or hot, just drink it. You might want to keep some made because boiling water constantly can be annoying.
Eggs
Eggs have vitamin B12 in them, which your body cannot metabolize fat without. Get rid of the toast and cereal and have eggs instead. Throw in some turkey bacon too for added protein and you still have no reason to feel bad. You’ll lose serious weight plus you’re getting necessary protein.
Fish
Besides tasting awesome, tuna and salmon contain Omega-3’s, which prevent stress chemicals that promote fat. Fish is also an incredible source of protein which will help keep you building muscle. When you start seeing results, you’ll be going through more cans of tuna than Popeye does spinach.
Green Vegetables
Spinach, broccoli, you name it. If it’s a green vegetable it’s good. They have tons of fiber which your body will burn calories breaking down and they have tons of the vitamins and minerals you need in your diet. They also fill you up and broccoli is also a better choice than 4 buttered dinner rolls.
