Claudia Romani is a gorgeous model who was born and raised in a small town in Italy. She was discovered by FHM magazine on a beach in Denmark and the rest is history. From there, she has not only traveled the globe living in London and now the United States but modeled for FHM, Maxim, and Playboy. Claudia has also been the face of several different companies serving as their spokes model. Now a resident of Miami, Claudia is working more than ever, expanding her brand and making men everywhere teem with jealousy. Mens Mag Daily caught up with the beautiful Italian born model to discuss everything from her travels abroad, to her modeling career, and whether or not she spends all day in a bikini.
Mens Mag Daily: So Claudia, you’re from Italy?
Claudia Romani: Yes, I’m from a city that is about an hour away from Rome. I was born and raised there and I lived there for 20 years. After that I lived in Denmark, then the UK, and then I moved to Miami.
Mens Mag Daily: Which has been your favorite place to live?
Claudia Romani: Every place I’ve lived has special things about it that I love but I think Miami is my favorite so far. The weather is so beautiful and I can always be outdoors. There is always something to do. But I always miss Italy, of course, because that’s my home. I miss London because there’s always a lot going on; it reminds me of New York City. But in London the weather was miserable a lot and in Miami it’s like summer all year long.
Mens Mag Daily: It’s always raining in London, right?
Claudia Romani: It rains quite a bit, yes. It’s quite cold and grey.
Mens Mag Daily: At what point did you start modeling?
Claudia Romani: I started modeling in Denmark when I was 21 or 22. I moved there and I was going to college. I was actually on the beach one day and in Denmark it’s very rare that you can go to the beach. Somebody from FHM magazine came up to me and asked me if I wanted to be in a contest they held. I was scouted on the beach. I wanted to do it but at the same time I had some second thoughts because I come from a very small town and I’ve always been quite shy. But the opportunity came so I decided to go for it.
Mens Mag Daily: And did your modeling career just take off from there?
Claudia Romani: I was on the cover of FHM with the two other winners but it’s a small market there. But I started to do some photo shoots and I was considered quite exotic there because most of the women are blonde. Luckily, I was able to work a lot.
Mens Mag Daily: What about in Miami, have there been a lot of shoots?
Claudia Romani: When I first came to Miami it was during the music conference, it was a very busy time of the year. It was March and the weather was amazing. A lot of people travel to Miami during this time. I was meeting a lot of people in the entertainment business and a lot of people were telling me that I should model here. I found out pretty quickly that it’s not easy to work here when you’re not an American but I found an agency that sponsored me for my Visa.
Mens Mag Daily: What are some of the big modeling jobs that you’ve done?
Claudia Romani: I’ve been modeling for 10 years so I’ve done a lot. I’ve done FHM, Maxim, and I’ve done some Playboy features but I don’t do nudes. I’ve worked for a lot of big companies and over the last few years I’ve found a lot of jobs for myself through contacts that I have. I’m also the spokes model for an Italian company crossing over into the U.S. market. I also work with my boyfriend for a sportswear company we own. I handle a lot of the PR and I’m also the spokes model. I’ve also been doing some television so I’ve been working a lot.
Mens Mag Daily: You’re an Italian woman so I have to ask, do you like to cook?
Claudia Romani: Well as an Italian woman I wouldn’t say I don’t like it but I don’t do it a lot because I’m always on the go. When I go home, I cook a lot more. I’m a vegetarian so I like to cook a lot of healthy foods. I’ve been a vegetarian for 25 years, no fish and no meat. As soon as they told me what it was I stopped eating it. But since we’re Italian, we have a lot of pasta dishes.
Mens Mag Daily: Do you miss Italy?
Claudia Romani: I was there not too long ago and I had a great time with my family. More than Italy, I miss my family and the house and the garden, it’s a different lifestyle over there. I love traveling so I like to go there quite often.
Mens Mag Daily: Since you live in Miami, do you just walk around in a bikini all day?
Claudia Romani: That’s what people think but I would say it’s a no. I often shoot in a bikini or go to the beach but not necessarily for fun. But I will say I spend a lot of time in a bikini, that’s for sure. (Laughs)
