Traveling is a must do for any man’s man. You get out on the open road, see where the wind takes you, meet random chicks, experience new things, and feel that freedom you can only feel when you completely break out of your daily routine and get away. There are a bunch of cities that every man should visit and Memphis, Tennessee is one of them. Let’s start with the obvious. It’s the home of Graceland baby, home of the king, Elvis Presley. You’ll get to see the Graceland mansion plus Elvis’ Automobile Museum and his custom jets. That’s all the way badass. Sun Studio is also a must see as it launched not only the career of Elvis but also Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, B.B. King and many more. Another must see is the National Civil Rights Museum which is located in the Lorraine Motel, where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. The museum is full of history and really is a beautiful homage to a very important time in America. A couple more museums you might want to check out are the Stax Museum of American Soul Music where you can see tons of music memorabilia including Isaac Hayes’ 1972 Superfly Cadillac El Dorado and as well as the Pink Palace Museum which is located in the home of Clarence Saunders, the founder of Piggly Wiggly supermarkets. You also might want to ride the downtown trolley or take a Mississippi Riverboat ride. After you’ve seen some stuff and gotten a little culture in your system it’s time to get down to the nitty gritty. In Memphis that means live music, drinks, BBQ, and gorgeous Southern women. First things first, get some BBQ in your stomach, first of all because you’re in Memphis and it would be a sin not too and secondly it will soak up the vast amounts of alcohol you’re likely to drink later on it the night. Here’s the deal with BBQ in Memphis, it’s insanely delicious. Unless you’re from another place that is heavy into BBQ as well, like maybe Texas, your only opinion on it is going to be, ”Holy Christ!” Some of the best places are Top’s BBQ, Corky’s BBQ, Cozy Corner, Payne’s, Charlie Vergos ‘ Rendezvous, Central BBQ , and probably 50 more to be completely honest. Eat ribs, wings, chicken, brisket, pork, and sausage until your belly is full. Digest for a few and then head on down to Beale Street which is three blocks of clubs, live music, and more in Downtown Memphis. It’s also the Home of the Blues, literally, Congress passed an act. Once you’re there hit up Wet Willie’s, Rum Boogie, Club 152, Band Box and many more bars and clubs. There’s a lot of grain alcohol in Memphis so adjust your drinking accordingly. Proceed to dance, listen to music, and hit on hot girls with the cutest Southern Accents. Maybe you can take one of them to a late night eats spot where you can have some more BBQ. Head back to your hotel, sleep it off, and that’s how you do Memphis.
