Mens Mag Daily was able to chat with Nikki Delano about everything from growing up in Brooklyn, to why she prefers California to the East Coast, and what her passions are outside of porn.
Mens Mag Daily: You’ve only been in Los Angeles for three years, so you’re really a Brooklyn girl then?
Nikki Delano: I am from New York yes, Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Mens Mag Daily: And how did you find your way into the adult industry?
Nikki Delano: Basically, I had graduated from college and I got a job at a non-profit organization. I was also doing some modeling on the side. I was a convention for modeling stuff and this guy came up to me, I guess you could call him a scout and he asked me if I was interested in doing adult films. I said no right away because my parents are like super, super strict. I took his card anyway and at that time the guy I was dating cheated on me. Basically, I guess you could say I got into the industry out of revenge. (Laughs) When he found out, he just went bonkers.
Mens Mag Daily: Wow, revenge by becoming a porn star, not a typical answer. I know you’re Latina but what’s your nationality?
Nikki Delano: I am Puerto Rican, Columbian, and Italian.
Mens Mag Daily: What about the super strict parents, do they know?
Nikki Delano: They do know, my whole family knows. It’s way too hard to hide especially when I’m all over the place doing a feature one day and then shooting a movie.
Mens Mag Daily: And what was their opinion on that, given how strict they are?
Nikki Delano: Um, we don’t talk about it.
Mens Mag Daily: That’s not bad. It’s what you do for work and that’s it.
Nikki Delano: Yes, absolutely.
Mens Mag Daily: What were you opinions of the industry when you first got in? Did you have any idea as to what it would be like?
Nikki Delano: No, actually I was taken back a little. I didn’t really know what to expect. You watch porn but there’s a lot that actually goes into it. If it’s a feature especially there’s lines to memorize and a script. It’s more than just having sex on camera. A lot goes into it. I definitely didn’t know all those details.
Mens Mag Daily: Were you prepared for that, like where you a very sexual person before you entered the industry?
Nikki Delano: Yeah I was a very sexual person but for my first scene I was very nervous. There are just so many people around. You could be a sexual person but all those cameras around makes it nerve-wracking.
Mens Mag Daily: I could imagine, especially for a girl who was coming into the industry from college and a 9 to 5 office job. It’s not like you came from being a stripper which is in the same ballpark at least.
Nikki Delano: Yeah it really was different. I mean I was just working at the non-profit in Washington Heights doing my office job so you could definitely say that the change was very big.
Mens Mag Daily: And what’s your opinion of it now? Are you happy with your decision?
Nikki Delano: Oh, I love porn. I love it. It’s opened the door for so many other things. I don’t shoot porn every day. I wouldn’t like shooting that much. I shoot about twice a week. The rest of the time I do feature dancing. I do mainstream modeling stuff. I did a music video. I like to mix it up. If I didn’t mix it up it would be boring like a regular job. It would just be the same thing over and over. I don’t like doing the same thing every day, it gets boring to me.
Mens Mag Daily: You seem like you want to use porn to do other things. Do you have specific ideas of things that you would like to get into?
Nikki Delano: I’m really big into fitness. If I branch out into other things it probably won’t be in the adult industry. I’d like to open my own fitness company and have my own gym franchise and open up a bunch of gyms. I like nutrition and all that good stuff. It’s a passion for me. I love the nutrition world.
Mens Mag Daily: I noticed, you’re in really good shape.
Nikki Delano: Yeah, I’m athletic. I do a lot of weight training. If I do too much cardio I lose weight. I sued to be 90 pounds so I had to work my ass off to get to this point.
Mens Mag Daily: You must eat healthy but do you have a day where you could eat what you want?
Nikki Delano: Oh yeah, you could have your cheat days, just everything in moderation. I won’t eat ice cream everyday but once in a while I like it. I diet so much, I’m so strict but I don’t deny myself if I have a craving. I don’t totally deny myself or anything.
Mens Mag Daily: Nikki are you single?
Nikki Delano: I’m dating someone right now but being in porn it’s definitely difficult to find a guy that can deal with it and everything so it’s kind of up and down.
Mens Mag Daily: So what would you say is your type of guy?
Nikki Delano: He doesn’t have to be like in crazy shape but he has to have a healthy lifestyle and be motivated. I’d like if he was in decent shape. I like a guy with a good head on his shoulder who has some ambition.
Mens Mag Daily: You’ve been living in Los Angeles. It must have been a big change from New York City.
Nikki Delano: Absolutely, big time difference. I like the West Coast, I like the weather. I like New York because I was born and raised there but I love California. I like it better than New York. It’s just so beautiful out here in terms of the weather. I love New York in the summer but I just hate cold weather.
Mens Mag Daily: What do you think has made you so popular in the industry?
Nikki Delano: I worked really hard to build my name. I think it’s because I’m friendly and I work hard. I’m always on my A-game. I work a lot and I’m ambitious. Everything I do I give my all and I give 100%.
Mens Mag Daily: Do you interact with your fans a lot?
Nikki Delano: Oh, definitely. I always go to the conventions. I was just at Exxxotica in Atlantic City two weeks ago and I do a lot of meet and greets. I also do feature dancing all over so I do get to interact with a lot of my fans from so many different places.
Mens Mag Daily: I have to ask you a couple of gratuitous sex questions now because that’s what people demand of me. What is your favorite sexual position?
Nikki Delano: I like the pile driver, that’s definitely my favorite.
Mens Mag Daily: Are you into anything that might be considered a little freaky?
Nikki Delano: Well, I am freaky. I do porn. (Laughs) I don’t know, I’m really open to anything. I do a lot of fetish stuff. There’s a lot of stuff I haven’t done yet like DP, gangbang, or blow bang. I’ll do them in time. You just don’t want to burn yourself out in this industry. I don’t want to do everything and then in a year everybody has seen it all.

Nikki Delano: Thank you; I have a lot of energy.
Mens Mag Daily: What’s a normal day for you like when you’re shooting?
Nikki Delano: I wake up early and I get to set for hair and make-up. I get dressed and take pictures of course then we shoot the scene. I get off work, go home, and relax for a little bit. And after that I go to the gym. That’s about it.
Mens Mag Daily: What about during your chill time?
Nikki Delano: Um, anything physical really. I love working out. I’ll go running. I love going shopping. I love to watch movies. I really like scary movies.
Mens Mag Daily: What’s your favorite movie?
Nikki Delano: I would have to say Titanic, I love that movie.
Mens Mag Daily: What about music? What are you into?
Nikki Delano: I love EDM music, I love house music. I’m really into guys like David Guetta and Calvin Harris.
Mens Mag Daily: Okay Nikki, on screen or off, what is the freakiest thing you’ve ever done?
Nikki Delano: I actually had sex in a movie theater in Times Square. (Laughs) It’s not there anymore but yeah I did that.
Mens Mag Daily: Do you enjoy yourself sexually when you’re doing a scene?
Nikki Delano: Like everybody else, I have days where I’m just over it and I’m not in the mood but I get through it. But for the most part I love it. I definitely enjoy myself when I’m shooting a scene.
