In the adult industry you’ll often hear popular new performers referred to as “the next Jenna”, a nod to former adult superstar Jenna Jameson’s massive success and crossover appeal. A few have the potential but in most cases it’s simply wishful thinking on the part of an excited director or producer. There is, however, one girl who is well on her way to reaching and maybe even exceeding those lofty goals and she goes by the name of Tasha Reign. She really needs no introduction but this Laguna Beach beauty has been a superstar since she stepped foot in the industry. Tasha Reign is a throwback to the 1990’s, a time when the glamour and glitz of the porn industry was still shining bright. We can thank her classic California, blonde bombshell looks for that. With a body that just doesn’t quit and a gorgeous face to match, Tasha is easily one of the most stunning women in the business. Along with her classic looks however, Tasha’s scenes are able to meet the steamy standards set by today’s adult industry as not many performers can match Tasha’s energetic and sexy performances. And it’s not only in front of the camera where she’s made her mark; she’s slowly becoming a force behind the camera with her studio, Reign Productions which has already released several films. Besides that, there are also the feature dancing gigs and the toy lines. In short, Tasha Reign is the definition of a pornstar and an adult industry juggernaut. Mens Mag Daily was able to catch up with the gorgeous California native to discuss her appearances in Playboy, graduating from college, and what her plans for the future are.
Mens Mag Daily: Okay Tasha, where are you originally from?
Tasha Reign: I am from Laguna Beach, California. I’m a Cali girl born and raised.
Mens Mag Daily: As far as adult work, you got your start as a dancer, right?
Tasha Reign: Yeah, that was my first experience in the adult industry. I was looking to be a nude model, not porn necessarily, but just nude pictures. Once I got submitted to Playboy and I got my first pictorial which was the UCLA Girls of the PAC 10 for them that was really my first major experience.
Mens Mag Daily: Overall, what was the Playboy experience like?
Tasha Reign: They’re very professional. It’s just very cool, classy people. There are a lot of “girl next door” photos which is how I was portrayed. I definitely had a nice time. I loved the experience and I was like, “I could do this every day”. I think it was shooting for Playboy that made me realize I wanted to be an adult film star. I had watched enough porn videos to know that it was something I could do. It’s what I wanted to do. I looked up Tori Black and all the girls at the time who were really popular. I walked into LA Direct Models which is my agency and I told them I wanted to be a pornstar. They told me I would probably get a lot of work. Lucky me, I found what I wanted to do and I did it.
Mens Mag Daily: You’re obviously a very beautiful woman. What drew you to the adult side of things? Was doing more mainstream stuff ever something you considered?
Tasha Reign: I actually did some mainstream stuff in high school. I was on a show called Laguna Beach and I had a contract with MTV. I think it was my junior year in high school so I have done some mainstream stuff and I liked it. It was fun but for some reason it just wasn’t what I was really attracted to. I’m not opposed to the idea of doing mainstream stuff now but the adult side just appealed to me because that’s what I like. I would look at pornstars and see the wild, sexy, confident woman and I would think, “I want to be like that”.
Mens Mag Daily: Did your personality match that in your personal life? Were you the wild, confident, sexy woman?
Tasha Reign: I mean I definitely play a character when I’m in movies, scenes, and in front of the camera but it’s a part of me. I love the element of freedom and I love the beauty of it all. I definitely have a passion for what I do but I’m definitely not Tasha Reign all the time. In my regular life I’m a pretty normal girl I think. I just like to have sex on camera and make visually very pretty pictures.
Mens Mag Daily: You were one of those girls who came into the industry and were just an instant hit.
Tasha Reign: Well I’ve been doing it for four years and I’ve been continuously working hard at it. I get a lot of different parts in a lot of movies and I have a lot of fans.
Mens Mag Daily: What do you think it is your fans love about you so much?
Tasha Reign: I don’t know, you’d have to ask my fans. I honestly don’t know. I think a lot of it is how much I interact with them on social media and I feature dance. I also definitely let them see my more personal side like when I was going to school. It’s just little personal things, like even when I go on a trip I keep them in the loop. They see more of a human side of me, more than just my performances. I think it’s very important to do that and it helps break down stereotypes because you’re showing different aspects of you and not just the pornstar.
Mens Mag Daily: You also have your own production company, can you tell us about that?
Tasha Reign: I do, it’s a smaller company called Reign Productions through a bigger company called Girlfriends Films. They have huge distribution so they let me produce my movies and put them out through their distribution. It’s pretty cool. I have 10 movies from them and I’m working on another one. I definitely enjoy this aspect as well as performing myself, I enjoy both.
Mens Mag Daily: Is it a big difference being behind the camera as opposed to being in front of it?
Tasha Reign: Yeah, I mean I can be a little bossy on set especially now that I’ve been in positions where I have to be. I have a little bit of a tendency to stress out because you’re in charge of all these girls and you want to make sure everything goes smoothly. You want to stay on top of things to make sure you’re providing good content. It’s so much work. I like it though. I like to be busy and I like to be creative.
Mens Mag Daily: I want to back to your interaction with the fans for a minute. Like you said, you do conventions, feature dancing, and all the social media. How do fans react when they actually get to speak to you or meet you?
Tasha Reign: It’s funny, everybody is different. I have the fans that are really excited to meet me and they follow me on social media so they know what’s going on in my life and they ask me questions about it. They’re always gentlemen and very sweet, I have great fans. I have some guys that don’t really know about that other side of me and they just want a photo because they don’t really know that other side of me but for the most part, I don’t know, I really lucked out. My fans are incredible. I have this one female fan Anna and we have all the same interests so she’ll send me these little care packages with gift cards to Chipotle, which is my favorite restaurant, My Little Pony stuff, it’s just really cute.
Mens Mag Daily: You obviously do some awesome scenes. What does it take to make a great scene? What’s going through your head while you’re filming?
Tasha Reign: Hopefully not too much, you want to have chemistry with your partner and just kind of be in the moment without thinking about it. At the same time, you need to open up for the camera and make sure you’re giving the director angles that he can use. You have to make sure you’re in whatever character you’re playing and if it’s just Tasha Reign then you have to put in a lot of energy. I feel like fans want to hear you even if you’re not talking dirty, they want to hear you being more vocal. They want to see facial expressions. It’s kind of like being on stage and you have to make sure you’re giving them what they want and make it look desirable. You want to engage with your partner and even if you’re not fully into them you have to find something that does turn you on. You need to put that energy in so it comes through in the scene. I guess as far as what’s going through my mind is just being energetic and making something entertaining for the fans that are going to watch it. At the end of the day, that’s who’s watching the content.
Mens Mag Daily: You work a lot and you’re always travelling. Are you able to find time for yourself?
Tasha Reign: Oh my goodness, I seriously have so much time for myself. I was just at my agency today and I was telling them that I need to get an office because I can’t go one day without working. I love to keep busy and if I can’t find any work to do then I’ll hang out with my family, see my nephews, go out with my girlfriends, snowboarding, the beach, anything I’m just an active person. I have a lot of energy and sometimes it’s difficult finding somewhere to put it.
Mens Mag Daily: You’re obviously very successful and you love to work. Do you plan to go even farther in the adult industry in terms of growing your brand and your businesses?
Tasha Reign: Yeah definitely, I get involved in a lot of projects that aren’t just me on camera. I’m going to sign with a toy company and I really like being involved in the whole design process and everything. My goal is also to make my studio even more popular and increase the budgets for the movies. I’d also like to grow my website, get more and higher quality content on there. I’m constantly improving on all of my projects and I have no plans to leave the industry anytime soon. I love this type of environment and I feel like I found something I’m passionate about. I also have interests outside of the adult industry. I’ve been working really hard on my degree for the last year and I finally graduated. UCLA is such a good school so I’m really proud of that. I also do some writing. Brobible.Com hired me to write an article for them once a week. I randomly write for newspapers if they need somebody to write on a certain topic. I like doing things outside of adult because I can be more diverse and I think it’s good to be involved in more than one thing.
Mens Mag Daily: Okay, I always wondered about this. You shoot a lot of scenes. Do you have a specific type of scene you like to shoot the best?
Tasha Reign: Absolutely, I love multiple boy scenes. I love boys. (Laughs)
Mens Mag Daily: What type of guy are you attracted to in your personal life?
Tasha Reign: That’s a good question. I don’t know if I have a specific type but I will say that I like a guy who is very respectful to me and treats me really well. When I’m with a guy I like him to be really involved in my life and not just some extra part of the picture in the background. I definitely require a lot of attention and I need somebody who can make me laugh, that’s so important. I like a guy who can have an intellectual conversation but I’m varied as far as the guys I’ve dated goes and I’ve only really had two boyfriends. I don’t know if I have a type but I like confidence, everybody likes confidence. I’m dating two different guys right now. They’re both really nice. I don’t think it’s a serious situation. I think it’s just I found people that are cool and that I like to hang out with. Right now, I’m really focusing on myself and my career, just throwing myself into my work.
Mens Mag Daily: Okay Tasha, tell us about everything you have coming up.
Tasha Reign: Well you can look for a new Reign Productions video coming out through Girlfriends Films. I can’t tell you much about it but I will be doing another DP scene and maybe even something crazier. I’ll also be feature dancing in Pittsburgh at Cheerleaders on October 24th and 25th. I’ll also be feature dancing and signing at Exxxotica in New Jersey November 7th-9th. I’ll be at Club Sapphire in NYC on November 8th. I’m looking forward to all that and I’ve been shooting a ton.
