If you grew up in the era of Dave Mirra’s BMX on Playstation then you knew him well. The BMX legend and X-Games winner died of an apparent suicide by self inflicted gunshot wound. Dave also played a roll in rally car racing and took to the race track frequently. In total he had won 24 BMX trophies and stunned people around the globe with the first ever double backflip.
He leaves behind a loving wife who posted a tribute to Dave on facebook shortly after being notified of his death. And also leaves behind two daughters. We hope the best for the family in this time of need.
I for one can attribute hours of fun to playing Dave Mirras BMX games on the Playstation. It was an eon ago now it seems but really wasn’t that long ago. He was only 41, and probably still had a lot of life to live. The death is under investigation to make sure no foul play was had but it seems to be a suicide thus far.
