Contrary to what many people believe, Erika Jordan is not a hardcore pornstar. She’s just a model slash actress who occasionally happens to pose nude. I personally could not care less as she’s a hottie of epic like proportions and that’s what counts around here. One of the hardest working girls around, Erika has appeared in Playboy magazine several times, on Playboy TV, in Maxim, and the list goes on. She’s also been in some movies and the best part is that Erika is just getting started. If ever there was a person who relentlessly pursued their dreams, it’s Erika Jordan and for that she should be applauded. Mens Mag Daily caught up with Erika to discuss how she got into modeling, her acting career, and some of her upcoming projects.
Mens Mag Daily: You lived in Germany until you were six. That’s very young but do you have any memories of living there?
Erika Jordan: Yes, I went back to Germany every summer until I was 12. I haven’t been in a few years but I definitely have fond memories of fresh pretzels made from scratch in the oven.
Mens Mag Daily: I know this a common question but what were you like in high school? Were you the popular cheerleader type?
Erika Jordan: High school wasn’t really fun for me at all. I was teased and beat up. I had to change schools a few times. I’m happy with the way things turned out. If I peaked in high school I never would have pursued my dreams with such vigor. It’s what gave me the willpower to move to LA, a city I had never even visited, on my 18th birthday.
Mens Mag Daily: At what point did you realize that you wanted to be a model and an actress?
Erika Jordan: I wanted to be on stage since I first set foot on one when I was 6 for a school performance. I did theater as a child, was a back to school fashion model for Dillard’s and pursued anything that involved a stage like band and dance.
Mens Mag Daily: You left Arizona at 18 and headed for Los Angeles which seems like a pretty gutsy move. Tell us the story behind that. Did you have a plan when you left?
Erika Jordan: I was always one to blindly follow my heart. My mother had so many regrets and I never wanted to end up like her so I made as many mistakes as possible. I spent the first 6 months in LA living in hotels and motels but I never thought about giving up. I purchased breasts before I had a car or place to live. I had my priorities in order. (Laughs)
Mens Mag Daily: Your first movie role was a movie called Attack of the Virgin Mummies which is a very interesting title. What was that experience like for you?
Erika Jordan: That was such a fun movie! I did my first MMA scene in that movie. That’s when I fell in love with martial arts. I played a virgin princess who was killed and came back to life thanks to her virginity. That was the first time I realized you could laugh all day and call it work.
Mens Mag Daily: When you moved to L.A. did you know that you would be open to doing adult stuff like you did with Playboy?
Erika Jordan: I signed my first contract with Playboy TV when I was 20. I started as the weather girl for the Weekend Flash. It’s legitimate news told while removing your clothing. That’s just genius! News was in need an uplifting twist. After the show was canceled I signed up to be the host of Totally Busted followed by a series regular on Canoga Park. I also did a few bits on Hot Babes and was the summer goddess on the Playboy Morning Show with a Just The Tip segment. You’re truly blessed when your play is your work.
Mens Mag Daily: When you started doing nude photo shoots was it very different from what you were used to? Were you nervous or concerned because it wasn’t mainstream?
Erika Jordan: I am half German and nude beaches are common where I was born. I never thought of being naked as a big deal. It’s not just being naked; it’s what you do while you’re naked that counts. I have never done any penetration whatsoever so for me I’m in a different world than porn. It’s unfortunate that the mainstream community sees only black and white. I was once informed porn is anything that elicits sexual arousal which means Victoria’s Secret models qualify as well. Everyone needs to decide how far they are willing to go. Sometimes you need to cross the line to fully understand where it is. For me I exist in the small demographic of entertainers who are comfortable nude but wouldn’t do anything hardcore.
Mens Mag Daily: You also worked on a few shows for Playboy. What was it like working for such an iconic American company?
Erika Jordan: I loved my run with Playboy TV. I still go on the Playboy Morning show once a month and it’s always a great time. One of my favorite experiences ever was signing autographs for Playboy TV in Toronto at the Everything To Do With Sex show.
Mens Mag Daily: You were also named one of Maxim’s Hometown Hotties a few years back. How did you get involved with that?
Erika Jordan: That was easy; I saw the contest in Maxim magazine and decided to submit pictures of myself. (Laughs)
Mens Mag Daily: It seems like you’re always working or auditioning. Does it get tough doing all that plus having to maintain your body while traveling, etc.?
Erika Jordan: My life is like a roller coaster without a seat belt. It’s feast or famine. At the moment it’s an all you can eat buffet and I’ll be packing a to go bag. (Laughs) I also do a lot of MMA, wrestling and boxing so sometimes my work day involves more of a workout than my usual gym session.
Mens Mag Daily: I think one thing every guy wants to know is, what is Erika Jordan’s type of guy and how should a man approach you if he wants to get to know you?
Erika Jordan: I want a successful, generous, funny, kind and good looking man. Romantic gestures are a crowd pleaser and I am a huge fan of things that make me say “wow.”
Mens Mag Daily: Do you prefer acting or modeling?
Erika Jordan: I would definitely say acting. Even when I model I have to tell a story.
Mens Mag Daily: Ultimately, what is your goal in terms of your career?
Erika Jordan: I would love to get my master’s in clinical psychology and become a sex therapist, get my own radio or TV show and help people in relationships while keeping them laughing. I would also love another series, preferably a comedy.
Mens Mag Daily: As a girl who I’m sure has done a lot of auditions for TV shows, can you tell us what shows you’re into right now?
Erika Jordan: I love watching the Vampire Diaries, Masters of Sex and Devious Maids.
